Good To Know

Terrible pic of me but great one of Tim.
One of our friends from over twenty five years back (during my Johnny Pizza days) commented on this picture and wrote "Tim looks like a state senator!"

Tim ( totally not on social media) first chuckled, then replied after I read him the comment..."Why not a United States Senator?"
That's how far he, and I, have come in the past ten years.
We have confidence in ourselves...and each other, once again.

There was a time, when two days alone with each other in a car would have been vehicular homicide, without an actual wreck.

We drove from Orlando, to Hiawassee, Georgia and back again in thirty eight hours, and had a pretty great time together.
It's good to know we still can.

We went to a wedding of the daughter of the best man at our own wedding and his wife, who served at our reception... almost thirty years ago.

They both look better than they even did three decades ago.

Their daughter was radiant.

She was the perfect epitome of a beautiful bride...inside and out.

We laughed together and genuinely enjoyed being with each other. The wedding was awesome, literally on the banks of the Hiawassee River, with drinks and dinner afterward at the River Retreat.

Life is truly a long and winding road.

We stopped on our way back to Orlando to have lunch with our son who still lives in Georgia and pick up my lawn tools from our old house we are renting.

It was only for an hour, but made my weekend.

Six hours later, we were back on the Florida Turnpike as it began to get dark.

We both agreed it was a much needed "us" trip.
It was short but sweet.

I've come a long way.

We've come a long way.

It's good to know we can still enjoy being with each other, especially after a few (not too good) years with an unexpected detour.

I want to be that couple behind us one day.

I think we will be and and that's good to know.

Til next time...COTTON

Thanks for the share. Looks like the wedding was a great time. Three decades later also. Time really does fly by fast. Wonderful photos. Have a great day.
